Can I extend my rental contract?
All extension requests are subject to Europcar's approval, depending on availability. Also, if you wish to keep your vehicle a little longer, you must go to a Europcar Guadeloupe sales outlet to regularize your contract and pay the rental supplement.
NB: Remember that the insurance linked to your rental only covers the period stipulated on your contract. Therefore, if you use the vehicle outside of this period without having informed Europcar AND without having regularized your rental contract before its expiration, you are deprived of the insurance beyond this period
What happens if I return the vehicle after the scheduled time?
Our rates are calculated per 24-hour period. If you return your car after the time agreed on the rental contract, your package will be recalculated and an additional day will be charged, if you have exceeded these 24 hours. Please note that Europcar Guadeloupe offers you a 30 minutes time slot, thus giving you more flexibility in your travels.
Furthermore, we draw your attention to the fact that the insurance policies taken out only apply during the rental period stipulated on the contract. Therefore, if you wish to keep the vehicle longer than planned, we strongly recommend that you contact the nearest Europcar Guadeloupe branch to regularize your situation.
Can I return the vehicle outside of opening hours?
Yes, this is possible. You will have to contact the Europcar agency where you wish to return the vehicle to agree with the agent on duty on the conditions of return.
NB: the vehicle will remain under your full responsibility until it is received and checked by the Europcar agent.
Does the vehicle have to be returned with a full tank?
The vehicle is delivered to you with a full tank of fuel (except in the case of exceptional major constraints) and must, as far as possible, be returned with the same level of fuel. If necessary, the missing fuel will be charged at the rate in force on the island, plus a penalty for refueling.
Do I have to check the vehicle before its final return ?
Upon your return, we strongly advise you to check the vehicle with the Europcar agent on duty, even if you have not suffered any inconvenience during your stay. Our technicians are at your disposal 7 days a week, during the opening hours of the agencies.
Will I have to pay extra on my return ?
Rentals are paid when you pick up the vehicle. However, some supplements can occur at the end of the rental, in particular: Refueling + fuel, if you have not refilled the tank when you return the vehicle One way, if you have returned the vehicle to a different agency than the one from which you started, Extra day(s), if you return the vehicle after the date and/or time agreed upon, Deductible, if the vehicle or an accessory was damaged or deteriorated...
Am I responsible for traffic tickets?
Any fine related to a misuse of the vehicle and/or a violation of the Highway Code, is the responsibility of the driver.
Upon notification of the infraction, Europcar Guadeloupe will transmit to the police services, the information useful for the investigation of the case. The driver will then have to pay the fine to the State services as well as a penalty for processing the ticket to Europcar Guadeloupe.
